The Topic of Cancer Keeps Knocking on My Door
The topic of cancer keeps gently asking to be seen and heard in my field.
Perhaps there is no person who hasn’t been touched by it—directly or indirectly.
My grandmother, a school teacher, died of skin cancer before I was born, when my father was just 14.
My aunt (her daughter), a military doctor who treated people affected by the Chernobyl disaster, died of leukemia after fighting for her life for ten years.
A soul mate of mine from England passed away from kidney and lung cancer many years ago…
