Psychosomatic Reasons of Different Kinds of Cancer

The Topic of Cancer Keeps Knocking on My Door

The topic of cancer keeps gently asking to be seen and heard in my field.
Perhaps there is no person who hasn’t been touched by it—directly or indirectly.

My grandmother, a school teacher, died of skin cancer before I was born, when my father was just 14.
My aunt (her daughter), a military doctor who treated people affected by the Chernobyl disaster, died of leukemia after fighting for her life for ten years.
A soul mate of mine from England passed away from kidney and lung cancer many years ago…

Just a few days ago—on my birthday—a very bright soul, a colleague I met in India, died of cancer at the age of 54. May her soul be embraced by Light and Love.
Our shared teacher also faced cancer. Several of my husband’s relatives and our neighbors have gone or are going through various types and stages of cancer.

So… I open my heart and give space to this topic.

As a child, the fear of dying from cancer deeply worried me.
That fear led me to explore healthy eating, body cleansing, vegetarian (and later vegan) diets, and psychosomatics.
Even though not everything can be prevented or healed, I choose to take responsibility for what is within my power.

Today, I want to touch the psychosomatic roots of cancer.

Many know Louise Hay, who healed herself from cancer and created a system based on identifying and working with the emotional causes of illness.
I first learned about this topic from her when I was a teenager.

In her case, cancer was rooted in unhealed trauma and resentment after experiencing sexual abuse in youth.
She healed herself and helped others to heal as well.

Later I explored the work of Lise Bourbeau, Valery Sinelnikov, and many other psychosomatic teachers.

💟 Possible Psychosomatic Roots of Cancer (General):

  • Deep, long-held pain, resentment, fear, or despair. Inner loneliness.

  • Suppressed emotions; blocked tears, anger, and vulnerability.

  • Chronic self-sacrifice, guilt, self-hatred, emotional self-destruction.

  • Loss of meaning, desire to live, inner exhaustion.

  • Repressed sense of self; fear of taking up space or being heard, seen.

💝 So, What Can Be Done?

Healing is not only about the body.
It’s about meeting yourself with honesty.
About allowing yourself to feel, express, and live—differently.

🕊 Sometimes it’s enough to simply acknowledge your pain and let it be heard.
That’s where the return to life begins.

🕯

When you finish reading this, close your eyes. 😉
Place your hand on your heart.
Ask yourself:

"What pain am I still carrying inside?"

And let it breathe.
Without judgment. Without needing to fix or explain. Just breathe with it.

If you feel you can write it down.
Or just sit quietly with yourself for a while.
